I admit it I have let this blog slide. Slide into a big dark hole. I need days to sit and get it caught up. But it is not happening today or tomorrow, or the next for that matter. I had a show today. I have one tomorrow and one the next day too. So The blog will sit calling my name for a few more days. But my plan is to be caught up by time we leave for vacation, LOL I am such a funny funny girl I know. We are 8 days from a marathon. I am 8 days from family coming to my house. I have not cleaned I have not got ready for them or a vacation that is coming fast. And you I am ok with it all really! But I plan to get pictures up here. I have so much to show. The kids finished school today. And it passed without fanfare. Except for dilly bars for the group. Sat I will celebrate with them when I come home from my show. The sleep. Lots of it I am sure. And then a week. Just 1 week till Grandma’s marathon. I have no plans till after I am done with that. Good night for now!
We arrived at the Air Force base at 10:30pm on Friday March 26th. After 17 1/2 hours in the car for the day. To say a bit dicey with 4 children and 2 women who drank beer with their brother the night before is an understatement of the year. Tired is what I was! The next morning after popping out of bed after a few hours of sleeping Matthew wanted to go fishing! Yea we talked him into a day of rest for the adults! Sunday we went off to go fish though. Walking down the path which I am sure people were wondering how Dad pick up this bunch of kids. Down there we always made an impact as there were just so many of us. And when we piled out of the 5th wheel I know we made a sceen. Like a clown car wondering how many more could come out! Papa got not a lot of fishing done that first day. He spent a lot of time casting. And untangling. Matthew loved it. Samantha loved it. Stephen and Mini fished but really I don’t know that the world would have ended for them without it. Though Stephen went everyday. Samantha well she would do anything with Papa she could. And i am pretty sure Matthew knows he walks on water too!
Happy Mother’s day everyone! Today marks the 13 year I have been a Mother. The 12th year my son has been alive to make me a Mother. To think 13 years ago I had no idea what it was that would happen in a few short months. I had no idea that in a few weeks I would go into labor 10 weeks early. I had no idea my perfect textbook pregnancy was coming to an end. Today Dennis made waffles, the kids took me to lunch, I went to Costco and body pump. Dennis made me hamburger helper. And we will go for a run shortly. Then, I plan to tuck all 4 of my children into bed and thank God for each and every one of them. And count each of my blessings as I know so many who are without this Mothers day. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
Yea this is what I got out of New Mexico on the trip down there, not the most thrilling. We ran into a car accident there and had to route our way around it. Thank you GPS with the detour feature! Then we hit a wind storm that caused a dust storm! Yea good times! And all we wanted in the whole wide world was to be in Tucson AZ and it just seemed to take forever. It was a long day with 17 hours of driving. Thankfully we gained 2 hours that day but I would come to regret those 2 hours in about 10 days!
Every time I looked in my mirror I saw someone sleeping. Sometimes even my passenger! So then I got bored and started taking pictures of myself. Yea Kansas is that long. And the road goes forever! And really would it kill them to put in some rest areas other then on the state line so I can pee? Or switch drivers? Or let some kids run off some energy? Do they know what 10 hours in a car with hardly any breaks does to me? To 4 kids? TO MY HEAD?
We found a welcome center. And took our nice long break. The veiws were neat from where we could go up and look out. They had som of the neatest sculptures. Lisa took another family shot of Dennis and I with the kids Lisa and I started taking self portraits of ourselves. Dennis well he is just Dennis and he made us take a bad picture but the got in there and took a nice one with us.
Our trip seemed to start off bumpy but we hit our groove after breakfast and we drove. And hit road construction! I guess it is not just MN where it is winter and road construction. And might I add some states I swear are much longer then they say! Lisa, Dennis and I rotated sitting in the middle row with Mini. And Dennis and I rotated driving. I like driving, it makes me happy. The boys and Samantha were in the far back. Lots of napping went on! They were tired and really sleeping meant time passed is what I am sure part of it was!
I asked myself this a few times on our trip. And I am going to put it up in order now. Slow like. I am sure you figured that out already! It was a bumpy start to a trip. We stopped for breakfast and noticed a headlight was out. Really?! I had just checked them! So we stopped and got a new one. Dennis replaced it for me and off we went again! And we had to get a rest area in in Iowa. What do you do in Iowa at a rest area? (which may I say they have great rest area’s?!) See the sign there? Well they had a pet run. My kids figured they were pets. And they ran. For 30 minutes. You try and get 4 kids and Lisa to sit still long enough for a group shot on day one of a trip! You also catch you children climbing into things. And instead of yelling you get a camera. And notice that no one will take them even free so what had I always been so concerned about! Yes that is Matthew! And then there was Mini in there too! Loving the little yellow box! Yes I know they should not have climbed in there but it was so dang funny. Lisa and I just laughed. And then we had to climb back in the car to drive 200 miles before we would stop. I was pretty sure Lisa would never travel with us again.
| This is Mini she is skipping preschool today to hang out with Mom. We are headed to the farm to see Grandma and Grandpa. Here she was taking pictures of her Daddy. We were at the Sabino Canyon in AZ. She forgot her camera so she had mine. It is funny to look at the pictures she took with my camera. Of course Dennis had one with him too and I borrowed it while she was taking pictures. It was hard on the trip to get a shot of the kids not taking a picture!
|
On our drive down it was windy and sunny. Stephen looked like this the whole trip. He is getting so big so fast. I do not know where my time with him has gone. But it feels like he is getting to big for me now. He started track this week. I miss him while he is at school.
